New Brunswick Cemetery Desecration

The Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County, along with Congregations Etz Ahaim and Poile Zedek, are grateful for the heartening and compassionate response to the destruction of the 500 gravestones at the Poile Zedek Cemetery in New Brunswick.

Our thanks goes to the New Brunswick Police Department, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, the Office of the Mayor of New Brunswick and the Office of Governor Jon Corzine for their speedy and driven efforts in finding and apprehending those responsible.

With damages estimated at upwards of a staggering $500,000, we have only just begun to respond and we need your continued support.

Donations for the repair and restoration of the cemetery can be sent to the Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County, earmarked "Cemetery Restoration Fund".  100% of your donation will be directed toward this fund.

We are outraged at this shocking crime, which evokes horrific images of another time and place in Jewish history, but we are inspired and uplifted by how our community has come together.
